N800 And N95 Get Software Updates

So the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet finally can officially updated with the OS2008 that comes pre-loaded on the new N810. Be sure to check out the full announcement on maemo.org.

News is making its way around the web about the N95 firmware update as well. Lots of improvements and many new features.

I hope this post doesn't get screwed up. A bluetooth keyboard is on its way to speed text input a bit.

Edit:
It looks like posting via email garbles my posts up pretty badly. If there's anyone that knows a better Blogger posting method from a mobile phone please throw some tips my way. Thanks.

Garnet On Internet Tablets, Download! Has New Stuff

Well this is something pretty interesting. ACCESS has put out a beta of Garnet VM for the Nokia Internet Tablets. So, now you can run thousands of Garnet OS applications right on your 770, N800, or N810 tablet. Very cool development that makes the tablets that much more useful.

Updated my Download! application/service on the N95-3 yesterday, and found some cool new items. Simpsons games, wallpaper, ringtones, and more. Cellfire service, that provides a central portal to find coupons, deals, and more great savings opportunities right on your phone. And lastly, there's a new Glu Games portal where you can buy mobile games in the sports, adventure, puzzle, and action categories.

On The Move With The N95

So I'm officially mobile with my N95 at the moment, utilizing the 3G
connection, and using T9 predictive texting to hammer out a quick
post. I've noticed that I have grown quite fond of texting these days
and learned to type pretty fast this way. However, I'm sure it would
be a lot faster using a full keyboard.

Anyway, I continue to be amazed by this little device, and will be
sure to attempt to use it to its maximum potential.

So Much Mobile News Before December

N95 accelerometer discovery, Maemo 4.0 SDK release, N810 giveaway contests, Google's new Android announcement, Internet Tablet Talk redesign, and so much more has been breaking news in the mobile space lately. I'm really excited about the potential of the N95 accelerometer and especially some applications coming soon that will make use of it in incredible way. It's still early November, and it seems that so much great news around mobile tech is just pouring into my RSS reader faster than I can keep up.

It's a really revolutionary time to experience so many new developments surrounding mobile technology and I know this is only just the beginning. With Google joining the mobile space in a monumental way, and devices like the N810 Internet Tablet set to make it's splash this month, it's overwhelming how cool it is to watch the industry grow and change in such big ways in so little time. As the year draws to an end, I believe there will be even more great news of what 2008 will bring.
